Snow oh how I love you!

We finally got a snow storm! It snowed for about 24 hours. It started snowing at 6pm on Tuesday and didn't stop snowing till about 4pm on Wednesday. It was probably the prettiest snow I've seen. It just came down and it kept coming it was just beautiful:)

Enough about snow, Sarah got her braces off!!!!! Doesn't she look awesome?

I know I know I put a lot of pictures up of Carson but really he's so cute! He's signing horse here he's not quite got it right yet:)

It's Jess's 19th birthday tomorrow!!! Happy Birthday Jess! Love you a ton:)

Salt shakers, snow, play-dough and tea:)

This week I have taken a ton of pictures and by ton I mean like really a lot! J.J turned 9 so I took lots of pictures. I always do on birthdays:) Then later in the week my mom took a few of us to a restaurant supply store. I brought my camera along just in case. I'm glad I did! there were some great photo opportunity's. A few days later it snowed!!!! This winter we haven't had much snow so it was nice to finally have some:) Here are just a few of the hundreds of pictures I took this week:)

I don't know about you but I love tea! Today I had this spicy chocolate kind of tea. It's a weird combination but it's really good. I love drinking tea and listening to music, while doing school:)

Carson just started to like playing with play-dough:) This amazing toy makes hair! I decided to make the man or cat or whatever it is have hair:D I named him Harry (good name don't you think?)

Valentines day........

Valentines day is probably the only holiday I completely forget about every year. In our family only my mom and dad get cards, gifts and flowers (mom gets the flowers not dad:D). Since we don't go to a public or a private school we don't get any of the drama everyone else does on Valentines day. These are my mom's flowers she got from dad:)

I don't think I can blog without putting a picture of this little guy in everyone of my posts:) Carson is learning some sign language so we can tell what he wants. He knows the signs for: Horse, Please, Thank you, milk, more, pretzel , bubble, ball, and cheese. He looks pretty cute signing with his little fingers:)

J.J's turning 9 on Saturday!!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!! love ya little brother, even if you didn't smile for this picture;)

long time no blog!

Ok it's official I am the worst blogger out there:P The last time I actually posted was last year:( I wish I could keep up with this but I just never do:/ I'm gonna try one more time to blog more if I can't I'll stop blogging if I can well then great!

and now the real reason for why I like blogging:D Pictures!!!

this is one of my mom's nativity it's my favorite:)

One of my favorite Christmas presents I got last year.

Sarah and I had a photo shoot:) my shoes are the black ones hers are the grey ones.

The camp good news bus is stored at our house I tried to get some creative shots of it.

This is part of the only chain link fence that we have on our land. Can you tell it's a heart?

The next few pictures I took while I was on a walk out in the woods.

Some of the foot prints in this picture are mine some are from deer some are from rabbits and some I hope are from dogs and not coyotes.

I took this picture a few minutes before the one above this but it's so weird to see the difference in them. one looks like winter one looks like fall.

I went on a retreat with my church youth group. we were at a beautiful camp way back in the woods, this was the sun rise:)

Lights!

I decided to try and take pictures of our Christmas lights again this year. I always do. but I have never gotten what I really really wanted out of them. In fact I'm not sure I even knew what I wanted. I just tried. And I'm so glad I did! I finally got what I wanted even if I didn't know what that was. and well here it is:)

Snow!

Finally the first snow! I absolutely love snow and winter! There's so much you can do in it, like sledding, snowmobiling, tubing, snowball fights and building snow men just to name a few:) although this snow wasn't of snow man material we still had a lot of fun playing in it.

just thought this one was interesting because of all the snow.

Creativity and Chicago

Photographers are creative people. I am one of them. I look at everything a bit differently than most people. I try to see things at a different angle than I see it at the moment. Have you ever gotten down on the ground messing up your clothes just to get a picture of a leaf or rock at a different angle? Have you ever brought a ladder out in to the middle of a field to catch a horse running? Have you ever made really goofy faces at someone to make them smile for the camera? Have you ever stood in one position for a long time so as not to scare a bird you are photographing? This is what photography is all about. This is why I love photography.

OK enough about creativity:) on to Chicago! Sarah, my Nana, my cousin and my all drove to Chicago and hung out for a day and a half. It was so cool! we got to go to the top of the John Hancock building and I snapped a bunch of pictures. We went to a play and walked around on navy pier. all in all it was a bunch of fun:) these are just a few of the pictures I took.

Leaves

If you can't tell I'm not very good at keeping up with my blog:P If I could I would promise that I will keep up with if from here on out. But I can't:( I can say that I will try to keep up with pictures because I'm a better photographer than I am a writer:)
So here is what has been going on in my life!

I turned 16!

Had a photo shoot with my awesome sisters! (one is my sister the other is my sister in Christ)

Allison turned 11

I did my friend Anita's senior pictures

It is now my favorite season!!! I love fall! fall colors, fall weather and no bugs!

Carson turned one, and he's walking!

And last but not least, photography. I now am learning how to shoot manually instead of staying in 'the green box' it's not as hard as I thought!

I know this was very short but it is all I have time for I will try to update more often!

First day of School....

Normally the first day of school is a day that most teenagers and kids dread. My mom tries at making it the best day of the school year for all of us kids. Mom called a family meeting to start us off right. She wrote a list on the white board: the first was good attitudes (Don't we always have that?) the second got us going. It said Library cards. (Now if you live in the middle of nowhere you know what it's like to have only ten bookshelves at your library. For fun my mom brings us to library's in the city's.) The third made made me grin: bring your cameras. Turns out we were going to the library and to the Munsinger gardens!
We all had a blast at the library and the gardens (My mom sure does now how to start school off good I mean how many schools go on a field trip the first day?) Hopefully the rest of the school year will be as good as the first day:)

On a Higher Plane

Photo shoot! I have some friends who asked me if I could take their band pictures.We did it today I had such an awesome time! My big sister Jess volunteered as the driver and drove us all down to the city's. as soon as we got there I wanted to start snapping but of course they guys needed to look good....it took them 30 minutes to get ready! unfortunately during that 30 minutes the lighting was perfect and as soon as we go to take pictures the sun pops out and my subjects are squinting all the time. But all in all it was an awesome time and I got some good experience:) Plus I think the pictures turned out really well.

Another week of camp...

I love camp it's such an awesome way to spread the gospel and teach kids about Christ. I don't work directly with the kids because I work in the kitchen but I do get some interaction with them. These kids come from really hard situations and when they come to camp they can let it all go and just have fun. Last week at camp I walked into my cabin and all the girls were in a circle telling life story's. One of the cabin leaders was crying and all the girls had come around her and were hugging and comforting her. It was so cool to see these girls respond to their leader. After she had stopped crying almost every girl wanted to share their life story of how Christ has come into their lives. It is so cool to see God at work in these girls lives.

But Jesus called them to him, saying, “Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God.

Camp Good News

I work at a camp for inner city kids during the summer. This week I worked in the kitchen and my whole family was up there including the baby. My Dad has always said that we need to serve as a family and when ever we go anywhere we need to think of ways we can serve. I try to remember that and pray about it before I go to camp, but sometimes I forget and want to just have fun. But every time I go up to camp with that mindset things don't happen the way I want. It just goes to show how much more fun serving is when you have a serving attitude.

Senior Pictures

As you know I want to be a portrait photographer. My Friend Sara asked if I could take her senior pictures. I got to tag along on a camping trip with Sara and her sisters! I didn't realize how fun hiking is even if my shoulders did get tired from carrying my camera around in a backpack:)

About me

My name is Hannah and I'm a photographer well not a professional but I hope to one day be a pro:) I want to be a people photographer as I call it others may call it portrait photography. I also like taking nature photos. I started out just taking pictures with a Sony cyber-shot point and shoot for about a year then for Christmas I received a Sony alpha300 DSLR. I also have an editing program called Photoshop Elements 7 pretty much it's an easier version of Photoshop. I use it on a lot of my photos but not all. My favorite subject is probably my little brother Carson he's ten months and the cutest thing you've ever seen:)

Now about my family. There's my Mom and Dad, my older sister Jess (18), me (15), Sarah (13), Allison (10), Jason aka J.J (8) and Carson, six kids in all:)Oh and we also have a really good friend Emily who is like a big sister.

We live out in the middle of nowhere on ten acres. I know it's small but it's the perfect size for us. We have 3 horses Addie, Jet and Raisins. A pony Apple Jack. A rabbit named Zeke the Geek. Two cats Peter Pan and Cuddles (plus a stray cat not yet named). 3 roosters, and 33 hens. I have my own flock and so does my mom but I care for both. And last but not least our dogs Cody (the cute one) and Buddy (the dumb one).

I'll be posting about once a week hopefully about random things in my life and my family's life. And of course I'll be posting pictures:)
